Cetaphil: Why the Popular Cleanser Isn't Doing Your Skin Any Favors
In this post, the authors tell us why the popular cleanser Cetaphil isn't doing our skin any favors. The facial cleanser contains just eight ingredients: water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfate, stearyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben.
All but the water are chemically manufactured. Given that there’s actually nothing clean about this cleanser, it’s rather amazing that millions of women think their skin will freak out if they use anything else.

This is a question Shelley Bridgeman of the New Zealand Herald asked and put her two cents in regaling a story of her ‘first time’. Heres an excerpt from it:
I first got Botox injected into my face four years ago. I like to blame a boozy lunch at Andiamo and the company I keep. I also blame my brother whose 30th was approaching at the time. He’s a whole 13 years younger than me and I didn’t want to look unduly decrepit amongst all the party-goers at his birthday bash.
At lunch that day two of my friends announced they’d just had Botox thanks to a two-for-the-price-of-one special offer. I was in a taxi later when I received a text from another friend who’d been at the same lunch and who was also a Botox virgin. She wrote: “I’ve booked you and me in for the same Botox deal which only runs until the end of the month. We’ll have to be fast.”
I agreed to it but then reneged the next day. Call me old-fashioned but half-price Botox administered by a nurse just didn’t appeal. So a few days later I had full-price Botox injected by a doctor.

These also freeze really well I like to wrap them up in cling film and take them to work for afternoon tea to ward off 3:30pm chocolate cravings!

The Egyptian Queen Nefertiti had such a stunning profile that every image of her shows off her amazing jawline. If you want people to admire your profile, but it’s a currently a little ‘fuzzy’ around the chin, you may be a suitable candidate for what was termed in 2007 as The Nefertiti lift.
The treatment was first described in 2007 by Dr Philip Levy (Geneva), where he identified that early jowl formation in some patients was due to theoveractive neck muscle (called the platysma). In these patients, the platysmal muscle would pull down the skin on the jawline, causing a jowl. More exaggerated jowl formation would be caused by fat, so if your jowls are caused by fat then this treatment is not appropriate. But, if you have theearly signs of jowl formation caused by muscular activity, then it maybe an option.
This treatment won’t replicate a face lift, but can streamline the jawline in some patients. It’s a non-invasive procedure using Botulinum Toxin (BOTOX) around the jawline and neck to relax the muscles so that the jawline is enhanced.

It seems we have had an increase in the number of clients taking on ourBodySculpting courses lately and they always ask us about healthy Diet tips. Here’s a recipe we love for high protein healthy snacks (or serve with rice and steamed veges as a meal).
Spicy Chicken Balls
Note: – Easy and quick
- perfect healthy snack or appetizer high in protein
- Or serve with tomato sauce and rice as a balanced meal
- Instead of chicken breast /filet you can use chicken mince but this will be less healthy (more fat and …)
Ingredients (5 servings = 20 balls):
- 600 g chicken breast /filet
- 2 eggs
- 50 g fine oats (or blend normal oats)
- fresh black pepper, cayenne powder
- Cut the chicken breast /filet in (pieces)
- Blend the raw chicken breast /filet, eggs, fine oats and spices, until completely combined (in a food processor or blender)
- Roll 20 balls (about the size of a golf ball)
- Heat up a non-stick frying pan (low heat). Spray some non-stick baking spray and fry the chicken balls for about 12 minutes.
- Or put the mix in a muffin tin in a pre-heated oven (180°C) for about 20 minutes.

Protein: 31.2 g
Carbohydrates: 6.2 g (sugar 0.5 g)
