Even though some people claim that they’re most productive in the morning, that isn’t the case with a lot of other people who simply can’t gather themselves immediately after waking up. Well, we must say that this is probably due to an improper morning routine, so keep on reading if you’re one of those people. Here are five useful tips on how to come up with a healthy morning routine, so check them out and make that happen!
First of all, establish a good skincare routine
Not even the most expensive makeup products will help you look good if you don’t take proper care of your skin in the first place – that’s a fact. This is exactly why you should put your skincare at the top of your priority list. Apart from a gentle cleanser, a nice scrub, and a hydrating moisturiser, which should be inevitable parts of any girl’s skincare routine, there are also anti-ageing products that need to be incorporated as well. You can always give medical grade products a try, as these have a high percentage of quality active ingredients that penetrate deep into the skin and provide amazing results. Once your routine is established, you’ll notice a fantastic improvement!
Hit the gym and sweat it out
Everyone knows that working out is one of the best ways to build the muscles and speed up the weight loss process, but you know what? Staying physically active is a great way to stop being sleepy, which is a good enough reason to hit the gym as soon as you get up. Of course, no one says that you should go for an intense 90-minute session – a simple 30-minute workout will be more than enough
to pump the blood into your veins. However, working out at the gym isn’t your thing, you can always go for a 45-minute bike ride instead. You’ll feel fabulous and energised all day long!
Eat a healthy breakfast and start your day the best possible way
Embracing healthy eating habits is another important step towards creating a morning routine that works. Even though a lot of people tend to skip their breakfast as they often don’t have enough time for it, you should know that this shouldn’t be done under any circumstances. People often say that it’s the most important meal of the day for a good reason – it will give you enough energy and help you stay focused until lunch, without thinking how hungry you are because you skipped it. So, make yourself a healthy breakfast using a lot of organic vegetables, herbs, and spices which can make your skin glow, too, and you’ll see what we were talking about.
A cup of tasty coffee is also an absolute must
If you’re a passionate coffee lover who simply can’t imagine kicking off their day without a nice cup of tasty coffee – we completely understand your obsession! This is exactly how millions of people all over the globe start their day off, and they often swear by this soothing drink that helps them wake up and boosts their energy levels. If you’re a fan of delicious coffee that comes from a coffee machine, you should know that a handy coffee pod should become your new best friend. There are fantastic coffee pods on the market these days, and no matter if you like a cup of strong espresso or velvety smooth coffee enriched with Baileys, just give them a fair shot and you’ll absolutely adore them!
Set your daily goals to guide you throughout your day
The last step towards establishing a healthy morning routine is setting your daily goals. Yes, we know that it may seem irrelevant, but the fact is that a list of your daily goals will guide you throughout your day and help you stay properly organised. This is essential even if you’re really good at remembering things, simply because such mental notes aren’t always reliable – especially if you have too much going on in your head. So, stick with a traditional paper-and-pen method, or use an app on your smartphone, and tick off every task you complete. It will give you an amazing sense of accomplishment and success, which is exactly what matters most at the end of the day.
Even though establishing a healthy morning routine can be a tedious process, trust us when we say that it’s completely worth your time, effort, and goodwill, so do everything it takes to start off your day on the right foot. That’ll help you stay focused and energised throughout the day, which will further motivate you to be more persistent and therefore more successful.
Around 1 in 3 adults today are thought to be overweight and struggling with weight loss. However, a very small percentage of them actually manage to lose weight and become fit and healthy. One of the reasons behind these discouraging numbers is the lack of understanding of the way weight loss works. So, here’s a little guide that will teach you the 10 most important things about losing weight!
Getting fit is not ALL about losing weight
If you want to get your dream beach body, don’t concentrate only on the numbers on a scale. Actually, your weight depends on several factors, including muscle mass and water weight—not just on how much fat you have in your body. For instance, once you start lifting weights, you’ll lose fat and gain muscle. Your weight might stay the same, but you’ll definitely look leaner and slimmer. So, instead of weight, concentrate on recommended body fat percentage!
Choose the right diet for you
People who struggle with weight often go on a diet and ditch it in a few weeks because it just doesn’t work. Not every diet is created equal—they all depend on the user’s lifestyle, needs and food preferences (and we all have a different set of these!) So, instead of trying even celebrity diet, take a good look into your diet history, medical state and preferences and you’ll definitely find a good weight loss plan.
Track your calorie intake
One of the biggest weight loss mistakes people make is underestimating their calorie intake. Even those little 25-calorie snacks and little nibbles while you’re preparing food count at the end of the day! So, get a food tracker and start inputting all the things that you eat. This way, you’ll always know if you’re on the right track.
Sure, you can lose weight without any extra physical activity, but the whole process will be longer and your results will be not as impressive. So, if you want to look fit, strong and sexy after you shed those pounds, you simply must start working out! Most people opt for hitting the gym, but that’s not your only choice. You can learn how to find your soulmate workout by examining your lifestyle, preferences and workout needs. Explore your options, try different workouts and activities and you’ll definitely find something that will not only show results, but make you happy in the process.
Every activity counts
Non-exercise activities like climbing stairs, walking to your car, running errands and even playing with your kids all add up to almost 30% of your calorie burn. So, try to move as much as you can outside of the gym and you’ll see amazing results!
Don’t hesitate to ask for help
Some people lose weight very quickly and easily, others tend to struggle and fail unless they have a good system and support. If you’re one of the latter, don’t worry, nothing is lost! There are amazing fitness experts who can help you with your diet plan and exercise and provide you with practical tips and encouragement. There’s no shame in asking for professional help!
Not all pills are evil
Many fitness experts and people who try to get fit are almost afraid of supplements! However, not all of them are bad and evil! If you want to give your body a little push in the right direction, you can try supplements, but be careful what you choose. As long as you’re aware that there’s no magic pill for weight loss that will make you fit overnight, your supplements can offer a bit of extra help towards your goal.
Drink enough water
If you want an effective weight loss, make sure to stay hydrated. Water not only boosts calorie consumption, but also reduces appetite and your calorie intake. Plus, it will make your skin and hair look amazing, especially in winter, when the cold weather is working against you!
Set realistic goals
Most people who go on a diet start by being very enthusiastic and pumped about the whole process and set unrealistic goals like getting a six pack in 2 months or losing half their body weight in half a year. That’s very bad for your weight loss and once you don’t see the expected progress, it can even lead to weight gain! Instead, set a few smaller goals that you know you can reach to keep you motivated to reach your ultimate goal.
Don’t forget to sleep
You might think that the more exhausted you are, the better weight loss is going to be, but you’re wrong! Actually, healthy sleeping habits are crucial for your weight loss and muscle gain. It helps with your recovery after a good workout, recharges your batteries, optimizes the body and allows you to burn calories and fat.
Now that you know the main things about weight loss, it’s time to turn your life around and make some real change. As you lose weight, you’ll look and feel soooo much better!
Eating healthy and nutritious meals every day of the week seems hard, especially for people who are used to eating whatever they want. However, if you make a plan and stick to it, you’ll realize that preparing healthy meals is just as easy as eating fast food – it’s also cheaper, quicker and more nutritious. Proper food will help you lose weight and fight dangerous diseases, but it will also introduce positive changes on your skin, so if you’re really interested in achieving this last goal, here are five ways to prepare amazing food that’s going to make your skin glow in a matter of days.
The Mediterranean diet isn’t everyone’s favorite, but if you look at the ingredients that it includes, you’re going to realize it’s basically the finest selection of foods you could ever find. Everything from lemons, oranges and lime to olive oil, tomatoes and almonds is going to rejuvenate your skin and make it look amazing and healthy quicker than you could ever imagine.
The reason for this is quite simple – these ingredients are full of vitamins and antioxidants that don’t just make you look good, but also heal your skin from within, moisturizing and nourishing it after every meal. Making such a radical change in your diet is hard, especially if you’re not used to eating healthy food, but keep in mind that this is one of the best ways to heal your skin and make it amazing and soft.
Use your own Herbs and Spices
Whether you have a huge garden behind your house or prefer keeping a couple of pots on your balcony, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t start growing your own herbs and spices. Things like mint, oregano, rosemary and basil always come in handy when you’re preparing your meals, while some of the more unusual choices – saffron, cumin and turmeric – will take
your food to the next level. However, these herbs and spices come with another secret benefit: they do wonders for your skin.
Packed with helpful vitamins and minerals, these simple additions to your daily menu can make a huge difference in the long run and take your skin from average to amazing within weeks. So, if you want to make your skin shiny and healthy once again, start growing these as soon as possible!
Healthy pre-made dishes
The reason why most people don’t cook on a daily basis isn’t a lack of skill or kitchen space, but the time they waste on preparing food. That’s why they order in and opt for pre-made dishes, and while this isn’t considered the healthiest option out there, it can still be more beneficial to your skin than you realize.
If prepared correctly and in accordance with your eating regiment, pre-made food can be just as healthy, tasty and full of vitamins as anything you cook yourself. That’s why you don’t necessarily have to ignore this option altogether, but just start making smarter choices when you order dishes. Having nutritious healthy meals delivered to you is quite helpful when you don’t have enough time to cook and still wish to serve your family something delicious, so embrace this option and your skin will thank you for that.
This is another idea that doesn’t suit absolutely everyone, but it can still help your skin glow again. If you get organized and stay dedicated to your goal, you too can start growing organic veggies in your backyard and experiencing their benefits almost instantly.
By feeding your skin nutrients that help it regenerate itself, organic food can make a significant difference, and you’re going to start noticing the results after just a couple of weeks. Your skin will look fresher, healthier and less toxic, and that’s something we all need, regardless of our age and sex.
Whatever vegetables you prefer, you can always maximize their effects by steaming them instead of choosing other cooking methods. Of course, not all veggies are supposed to be steamed, nor do they all taste the same after being prepared this way, but you can steam anything from broccoli and peas to carrots, mushrooms and corn, so just find the vegetables you love the most and steam them right away.
In order to help them release their beneficial nutrients, minerals and vitamins, you have to find ways to prepare these veggies and make them taste amazing – because you’re just not going to eat them otherwise. By adding things like fresh herbs, lemons, lime juice and ginger, you’ll boost their taste and nutritive level, and your skin will become even healthier because of that.
Preparing three meals a day can be exhausting, time-consuming and even boring, but it’s ultimately the best way to ensure your daily menu is full of nutritive ingredients that will make your skin glow and look amazing every day of the week.
The general rule of thumb is – switch your skincare routine at the change of seasons, and the reason for this rule is actually quite reasonable. Winter can be harsh on the skin, so we focus on protection most of all, but let’s face it, the season can still take a toll on the skin so spring time is when we focus on rejuvenation of the skin, the body and our spirit. Spring is essentially glow-time, so let’s get rid of all the winter souvenirs by committing to a comprehensive 5-step rejuvenation process that will give you the radiance and glow and give spring the welcome it deserves.
Inside and out
In order for your skin – your barrier and protector, to shine, it’s paramount that you nourish it from within first. This is perhaps the most comprehensive step of all as it includes adopting healthier dietary habits, meditation, exercise and numerous other ways to treat your body like the temple that it is. Each of these actions plays a major role in the health of your skin. Healthy foods, predominantly super-foods, are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and since there is an inextricable link between the gut and the skin, what you eat inevitably reflect on the ‘outer shell’. Exercise is always important as it helps flush out the toxins through perspiration, and meditation is there to relieve you from the inevitable stress that comes with modern day lifestyle, and make no mistake about it, stress affects your health and subsequently your skin to a great extent, so you’ll want to do everything to minimize it and chase it away from your life.
Entire body rejuvenation
As sun dresses, shorts, and bikinis are in our near future, it is our goal to prep not just the skin of the face but the entire body for the glorious skin-revealing season. Dry brushing has become extremely popular as it helps get rid of dead cells, and the increase of blood flow has shown to be a great tool against cellulite, so get a brush and start already. Speaking of getting rid of dead cells, which tend to form much faster in the winter, this might be the perfect time to step up your game in the exfoliation sector. Remember to use mild, non-abrasive exfoliators as they can cause inflammation, and go easy on the skin. Exfoliating it more than three times a week can potentially aggravate it and cause breakouts – the last thing you want, so give your skin time to actually ‘provide’ dead cells for you to remove so you don’t go stripping it of its natural oils. Now, in the spirit of whole body prep, there is the matter of unwanted hair in unwanted places, so considering laser hair removal might be a good idea as it allows you to get rid of this nuisance once and for all.
When you don’t know, ask
Hey, we’re not experts on skincare, we’re just people who happen to have skin. Jokes aside, it’s not uncommon for people not to know what their skin type or issues are, which is why we most often end up purchasing over the counter products that give us nothing. So, why not just consult a skincare professional online , and get the skinny on your skin once and for all so you can stop wasting your time and money on the wrong products and start choosing the ones that will actually deliver results? When in doubt, always turn to those who are in the know, your skin will thank you by the time spring kicks in.
The star of your journey
The road to glowing, luminous and healthy skin is paved with numerous steps, but hey, nothing good in life ever comes easily, so you have to be willing to put in the work. Now, if you have already commenced your journey with the steps mentioned above, then it is the time for some supreme pampering. Serums have been getting an extraordinarily good rep, and boy, it is totally deserved. You see, serums are powerful yet lightweight products that deliver more active ingredients that penetrate the skin more effectively than any moisturizer in the world, and there are different serums that target different concerns. For instance, good hyaluronic acid serum is one of the most frequently recommended ones, especially for this season. You see, hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body, so naturally, we can only benefit from topical solutions that contain extra dosages of it. This is one of the best overnight treatments out there, as when you sleep the body kind of reboots itself, along with the skin, so applying a great serum before getting your beauty sleep is a double-threat combination that will result in morning radiance, plumpness and skin that’s been nourished and moisturized like never before.
One more and you’re done
If you’ve been diligent and have already put this advice into practice, kudos to you. There is only one more thing left to teach you and it regards skin protection. Dermatologists all over the globe do advise us to wear sunblock all-year-round, as the UV rays actually never rest. However, we all know that spring and summer are sun’s ‘prime time’, which is why weneed to amp up the volume – SPF style. Translation – settle for nothing less than an SPF 30, and preferably choose products from the broad spectrum family as these will keep you safe from both UVA and UVB rays. The skin can’t be ready to glow if it’s not protected, so hop to it.

Perceiving their body as a temple is what more and more people are doing these days, as they have finally started to realize that being more appreciative towards their bodies actually has a lot of benefits – especially in the long run. Discipline, proper maintenance, and day-to-day attention are exactly what your body needs and craves, so stay with us and learn about the ten amazing ways to treat it as it deserves. Check them out and enjoy!
Pamper your skin with the best facial ever
The first and one of the best ways to pamper yourself and treat your skin with respect is to pamper it with the best facial ever. There are fabulous medical grade facials specialized for your personal requirements, and you should definitely give them a try. These are designed to relax and revitalize your skin, and they include cleansing, exfoliation, a detoxifying lymphatic facial massage, a medical grade mask, and a medical grade serum. Does it get any better than that? We don’t think so!
Love your body
Loving your body is an essential step towards learning to treat your body like a temple, so be sure to embrace its good sides in the first place. So, instead of trying hard to hide minor flaws like belly fat or a little bit of cellulite, you should focus on the good sides like tiny waist or perfectly toned arms. Remember that no one will respect you until you love and respect yourself in the first place, and you’ll find a way to successfully nourish both your soul and your body.
Make sure to work out regularly
Being physically active is another extremely important step towards improving your health and overall well-being, which is why you should work out at least three times a week. Of course, we understand that you probably don’t have the motivation to work out every day, but you shouldn’t worry at all because you can always rely on a personal fitness trainer who can help you out with anything. They’ll make your home workout a piece of cake, without a doubt!
Cosmetic surgery? Why not!
Treating your body with respect can be a bit problematic sometimes, especially if you’re dealing with some insecurities you simply can’t overcome. Well, that’s exactly when cosmetic surgery should step in! And no, we aren’t talking just about those invasive procedures like liposuction or tummy tuck, but about cosmetic treatments like dermal fillers as well. These are known to restore the volume of any part of your face that needs more plumpness, like the lips and the cheekbones. These can also fill scars, which is a fantastic thing if you want to improve your appearance without having to go under the knife.
Eat healthy, homemade meals as often as possible
A healthy, well-balanced diet is a quite obvious step towards improving your health and treating your body right, so stay away from the processed foods in the first place. These are rich in empty calories and artificially added sugars which can do more harm than good, so be sure to switch to a diet that includes a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, lean protein, fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids, and whole grains. Your body will be thankful for that change!
Drink enough water on a daily basis
Apart from eating right, you should also do your best to drink enough water on a daily basis. H2O will keep your skin plump and hydrated, while allowing your brain to function properly at the same time. However, if you can’t drink the recommended eight glasses of water a day, you can switch to unsweetened herbal tea instead. It’s a good choice, too.
Good night’s sleep is your best friend
Getting at least eight hours of sleep at night is crucial for keeping your body running like a finely tuned machine, which is exactly why you should go to sleep a bit earlier tonight. Improving your sleeping habits will keep sleep deprivation at bay, so turn off your phone about an hour before bedtime and you’ll sleep like a baby, without exceptions!
Keep your brain active
Treating your body with respect also has a lot to do with keeping your brain active, as it’s one of the best ways to continually challenge your mind. No matter which activity you opt for – Sudoku, crossword puzzles, dancing, playing tennis, or learning a new language – you’ll keep your brain in shape and help it stay young and less susceptible to deterioration. That’s what matters most, right?
Give meditation a try
Meditation is a truly beneficial practice that has the power to relax both your body and your mind, which is of the utmost importance these days, when people have almost no free time just for themselves. Meditation will teach you to maintain a peaceful state of mind no matter what comes your way, so make sure to give it a try as soon as possible – we assure you that you won’t regret it!
Stop comparing yourself to other people
Treating yourself with respect is the best way towards treating your body like a temple, and this means that comparing yourself to other people must stop right now. You should know that everyone is unique and that it’s our inner beauty that counts, and not the physical appearance. The fact that someone looks better than you doesn’t have to mean that they are more kind, compassionate, or generous than you. Bear that in mind and you’ll see an instant improvement!
As you can see, there are a lot of ways to treat your body like a temple – which is exactly what it deserves. After all, your body is your first and the most important home, so treat it with respect and it’ll be more than grateful for that!

How often do you actually take the time to do something nice for yourself? The fast-paced life keeps us all busy but that’s precisely why you should always leave some room to pamper yourself from time to time. Your body is a temple of your soul. Don’t forget to show them the respect and care they deserve. There’s nothing wrong with proper self-nourishment. Take a look at the tips below and enjoy the process of rejuvenation for both your body and soul.
Step 1 – Take care of your skin
The first thing you should do in order to upgrade your skincare routine is to find the skincare products that suit your skin type. This is not something that you should ignore. Using unsuitable products can only damage your skin. Your skin can be normal, dry, oily or combination type. What’s more, it can also be sensitive and/or prone to acne breakouts.
Regardless of your skin type, it’s essential that you moisturize your skin. Rich creams are perfect for dry skin while light moisturizers are more than enough for oily skin type. There are also plenty of products in the market for combo skin, but you can always mix the products dedicated to oily and dry skin types, as well. If your skin is sensitive, try to avoid fragrances and alcohol. Moreover, use acne treatment on the problematic areas only.
Peels and exfoliation should also be a regular part of your skin nourishment regimen. Treat yourself to facial peels once in a while and exfoliate twice a week so that you can get rid of the dead skin cells and reveal beautiful, fresh and radiant skin.
Step 2 – Love your body
Skin-rejuvenation does not only include your facial skincare. You should also find the time to take care of your body. Proper body care products are also important for each skin type. There’s nothing to stop you from enjoying your little shower and bath rituals, so, make them as pleasant and nourishing as possible. Apart from body creams, lotions and shower gels, don’t forget to use body scrubs as well. You don’t have to do this every day. However, a nice scrub will boost your blood circulation. This means more energy and vitality as well as less cellulite to worry about.
One of the main points for proper body nourishment is eating healthy. Paying attention to the food you eat is essential for both your weight goals and the healthy look of your skin. What’s more, regular exercising will not only help you control your weight, but it will improve your mood, as well. If you want to make sure your weight is going down no matter how busy you are, healthy and effective weight loss pills can be a good choice.
Step 3 –Feed your soul
Taking care of your body and skin is very important. However, you should never forget to nourish what’s inside. In that respect, doing something good for your mind and soul should become a habit.
The stress of modern life can put a lot of pressure on you. Remember that it’s perfectly fine to relax and take some time to just breathe. If you can pinpoint the main stress triggers in your life, you can also learn how to block them. Respect yourself – nothing and no one is more important than your mental health.
Do things that you enjoy! Spend time being surrounded by people that care for you and that you care about as well. Take up hobbies that inspire you, regardless of how silly they may seem. Also, don’t forget to smile as much as you can!
Proper self-nourishment cannot happen overnight. It’s not enough to occasionally remember that you can use a skincare product or have fun with your friends and family. This is something that should become your lifestyle. You deserve to spend your life happy and content with who you are.

The weather conditions typical for the period between December and February can take quite a toll on your skin. The most common problems that you’ll face are sunburns, but they’re just the beginning of your torments. Other skin issues that come with the unbearable heat are brown spots, broken blood vessels, acne, freckles, heat rash, chaffing, blisters and burnt scalp. These are the unfortunate consequences of exposure to summer sun emits more radiation in this period. The skin damage that comes with too much exposure to sun leads to premature skin aging. This means that this is the perfect time to start thinking on how to rejuvenate your skin. Here is a guide that will help you with that.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate
Water is basically the foundation of proper summer skincare, and if you want to survive the dreadful heat of the Southern Hemisphere, you will need a lot of it. If you are not drinking enough water, your skin will become dry and less resistant to sun damage, which leads to premature aging. Drink at least eight glasses of water during the day, carry some water in the bottle with you when going outside and eat some hydrating foods (cucumber, iceberg lettuce, celery, radishes, tomatoes, watermelon, star fruit, strawberries and grapefruit).
Leave It to the Pros
If you could pick only one season when you will treat yourself with rejuvenating facial treatments, that should definitely be summer. A facial will clean, exfoliate and nourish your skin, improving its hydration and helping it look younger. It can also address specific problems that may occur to your skin during summer, such as acne, sun damage and dehydration.
Protect Your Skin
You’ve probably figured out by now that the sunlight causes most of the skin problems during the summer, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go out at all. Just make sure you are well protected before you do that. Sunblock (not sunscreen) is a necessary addition to your skincare routine, and you should apply it about half an hour before you go outside and reapply it every two hours or so. If you have some distinct moles that would be exposed to sun during sunbathing, consider a mole removal procedure, since sunlight in combination with moles can often lead to melanoma – a type of skin cancer.
Switch to Organic Skincare
Conventional skincare products are just slowly filling up your skin (and your organism) with toxins, which, in the long run, can do more harm than good. Switching to organic skincare would include not only using organically produced cleansers, toners, and moisturizer, but also making your own skincare masks out of ingredients you have in your kitchen. Some of the best ingredients for protecting your skin during the summer are carrot, shea butter and coconut oil. Also, considering the outrageous number of mosquitoes, you shouldn’t forget to get a natural mosquito repellent.
Consult the Experts
Taking care of your skin during summer months isn’t something that should be taken lightly. Some skin problems may not be healed with skincare products, regardless of how efficient they may be. If a problem is persistent, you might need prescription skincare that will address the specific skin condition you have with regards to your skin type. Also, regular dermatologist checkups and examination of moles, lesions and growths, should become something you do routinely once a year, prior to summer.
Load Up on Antioxidants
Last, but not the least, antioxidants are your army fighting the sun radiation and skin aging. Increase their numbers by using topical serum containing high-performance ingredients, such as vitamin E, hyaluronic acid, pomegranate seed oil, phloretin and ferulic acid. These will not only protect your skin from future damage, but also repair and rejuvenate it.
Don’t sacrifice the health of your skin for reckless sun fun. Summer can still be fun if you devote some time to taking care of and protecting your skin. Only by doing that will you succeed in keeping it youthful and glowing.
Its coming to that time of the year we can start thinking about a winter treatment plan for our sun-kisssed skins. A lot of our clients have already begun their course of Collagen Induction Therapy treatments to enhance the Skin rejuvenation process.
Dermal Rolling or Collagen Induction Therapy procedure works by stimulating your own body’s collagen. Your body will start to naturally regenerate the skin, working below the surface in the dermis.
New skin cells are generated & blood supply is enhanced. It will only take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration are seen & the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a gradual & long lasting enhancement.
Dermal Rolling (or Skin Needling) uses fine, micro-needles to stimulate tissue regeneration. This treatment is a perfect treatment for skins which are dull, uneven, looking lifeless, pigmentation, wrinkles, post acne scarring, stretch marks.
Prior to any Collagen Induction Therapy being performed a Total Face Consultation is done with Renee to ensure your skin is 100% prepped and ready for treatment. Depending on your skin a Pigment Inhibitor will be necessary to be used 3 weeks prior to treatment to ensure the formation of new or existing pigmentation isn't enhanced
How the Procedure is performed
Your skin is double cleansed, and prepped free of make up, and natural skin oils. A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure there is no feeling and left on the skin for 45minutes to ensure it is in full effect. The treatment itself takes around 30minutes to complete, total treatment time is approximately 1.5hours.
Post Collagen Induction Therapy your skin is slightly red and feels like you've just been in the sun. Directly after your treatment a topical hydrating serum will be applied followed by a SPF 30, No make up is allowed to be worn 6 hours post treatment as the fine channels made on the skin will still be open. It is ideal to use a soft gentle cleanser for the next 48hours and avoid all active serums for 4 days as this will create sensitivity on the skin. Keep the skin hydrated and ensure the skin is protected with a SPF 30 daily.
BLUSH HOUR TALKS TO NATIONAL TRAINING DIRECTOR FOR ULTRACEUTICALS TRACEY BEEBY REGARDING SOME BAD HABITS WE SHOULD TRY TO AVOID WHEN SEEKING HEALTHY, GLOWING SKIN.
FIVE BAD HABITS THAT ARE RUINING YOUR SKIN: From binge-watching you fave trashy reality TV show (Dance Moms FTW!) while wearing a pizza-stained onesie to eating Nutella straight from the jar when no one’s watching, we all have cheeky habits we’re not (usually) proud of. And while most of our little quirks and bad habits are no biggie, when it comes to your skin there are certain behaviours you should steer clear of at all costs if you want a healthy, glowing complexion. Beware these five bad habits that could be ruining your skin:
1. Constantly touching your face
Our hands come into contact with millions of germs daily, and unless you’re regularly going through swimming pool-sized quantities of Dettol, chances are you’re transferring these germs to your face when you unconsciously touch your skin. “When we touch our face, germs may be transferred onto the skin and enter open lesions – this could risk exacerbating any acne condition,” says Tracey Beeby, skin whizz and trainer for skincare brand Ultraceuticals. And it’s not just your fingers that you need to worry about – your mobile phone’s covered in more bacteria than a toilet seat (apologies if you just threw up in your mouth a bit). Wipe your phone down regularly and put it on speaker instead of holding it up to your face when possible, and try to avoid touching your skin throughout the day – particularly around any areas where you’re experiencing break outs.
2. Skipping moisturiser
Even if your skin feels oily, that doesn’t mean it’s hydrated. “Too often an oily skin with breakouts presents with an impaired lipid barrier [that’s your skin’s outer protective layer, FYI],” says Tracey. “Using a moisturiser that mimics the skins own natural moisturising factor is essential to ensure the external lipid barrier is maintained at optimum strength. With an unhealthy barrier, the skin will have an overproduction of dead surface cells that build up and eventually may begin to clog the pores. This leads to a domino effect leading to the varying stages of acne formation.” Try using a lightweight oil-free moisturiser morning and night to keep skin healthy and hydrated.
3. Stripping your skin with harsh products
While it’s tempting to scrub your skin til it’s squeaky clean – especially when oil and pimples are making you feel gross – using harsh cleansers and annihilating your face with super strong treatments can backfire in a big way. “Harsh stripping products will lead to an impaired lipid barrier and lead into acne formation,” warns Tracey. Be gentle to your skin and look for cleansers and treatments that aren’t chock-full of alcohol and scary-sounding chemicals, and don’t exfoliate more than two or three times a week.
Another thing to beware of is benzoyl peroxide – it’s an ingredient often used in anti-acne products, and while it can be helpful if you’re battling a giant zit of doom, be aware that can be quite damaging to your skin and isn’t ideal to use in the long term. “Benzoyl peroxide is an oxidant. This means that it is creating oxidation, the opposite to an antioxidant…it can lead to further lipid oxidation within the pore making acne even worse,” warns Tracey. “It also can create irritation on the surface of the skin leading to further dead skin build up and inflammation.” If you’re on the hunt for an effective but gentle spot treatment, look for one that contains salicylic acid, mandelic acid, niacinamide (that’s vitamin B3, FYI) or clove oil.
Try: Ultraceuticals Ultra Clear Spot Treatment, $39.
4. Squeezing pimples and blackheads
You’ve heard it a thousand times, but this a major no no. “Squeezing or picking at the skin can lead to the infection spreading both superficially and beneath the skin,” warns Tracey. “Beneath the skin is where our sebaceous glands [that’s our oil glands] reside and if the skin is squeezed hard it’s possible that these glands can burst and spread the infection.” Basically going to town on your face is a bad idea, and if you can’t deal with pimples and congestion and need it extracted (and I totally understand this feeling), just make sure you visit a professional skin technician – they’re trained in hygienic extraction methods.
5. Avoiding sunscreen
If you’re one of those cheeky monkeys who skip moisturiser because they’re scared it’ll cause more oiliness and breakouts, you’re probably guilty of skipping sunscreen too (even though you know it’s the most important anti-ageing product you can use). It doesn’t have to be this way my friend. “The use of sunscreen itself does not cause breakouts,” says Tracey. Just make sure you double cleanse at the end of the day to avoid blocked pores, and look for a sunscreen that’s designed specifically for your skin type – there are fantastic ones on the market now created for oily and acne-prone peeps. Try: Ultraceuticals SPF 30 range, it will wow you!!
For many people, the cold clear days of winter bring more than just a rosy glow to the cheeks. They also bring uncomfortable dryness to the skin of the face, hands, and feet. For some people, the problem is worse than just a general tight, dry feeling: They get skin so dry it results in flaking, cracking, even eczema (in which the skin becomes inflamed).
As soon as you turn the heat on indoors, the skin starts to dry out. It doesn't matter if you heat your home using oil, wood, or electricity. The skin gets dry.
Sound familiar? Read on to get top 10 tips for boosting your winter skin care regimen, so that your skin stays moist and healthy through the winter months.
1. Seek a Specialist: If you go to your local chemist, you'll be hard pressed to find a salesperson who can give you good advice. That's why going to an esthetician even once is a good investment. A Skin Esthetician can analyse your skin type, troubleshoot your current skin care regimen, and give you advice on the skin care products you should be using.
2. Moisturize More: You may have found a moisturizer that works just fine in spring and summer. But as weather conditions change, so, too, should your skin care routine. You may find that a visit to your Skin Esthetician at the beginning of winter is just what you need so your skin will stay tip-top over the winter period.
3. Slather on the Sunscreen: No, sunscreen isn't just for summertime. Winter sun -- combined with snow glare -- can still damage your skin. Try applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen to your face and your hands (if they're exposed) about 30 minutes before going outside. Reapply frequently if you stay outside a long time.
4. Give Your Hands a Hand: The skin on your hands is thinner than on most parts of the body and has fewer oil glands. That means it's harder to keep your hands moist, especially in cold, dry weather. This can lead to itchiness and cracking. Wear gloves when you go outside; if you need to wear wool to keep your hands warm, slip on a thin cotton glove first, to avoid any irritation the wool might cause.
Any excess product you have on your hands after doing your morning and nightly routine rub it into your hands, your hands will thank you for it.
5. Avoid Wet Gloves and Socks: Wet socks and gloves can irritate your skin and cause itching, cracking, sores, or even a flare-up of eczema.
6. Hook Up the Humidifier: Central heating systems (as well as space heaters) blast hot dry air throughout our homes and offices. Humidifiers get more moisture in the air, which helps prevent your skin from drying out. Place several small humidifiers throughout your home; they help disperse the moisture more evenly.
7. Hydrate for Your Health, Not for Your Skin: If you've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times: Drinking water helps your skin stay young looking. In fact, it's a myth. Water is good for your overall health and the skin of someone who is severely dehydrated will benefit from fluids. But the average person's skin does not reflect the amount of water being drunk. It's a very common misconception."
8. Grease Up Your Feet: Yes, those minty foot lotions are lovely in the hot summer months, but during the winter, your feet need stronger stuff. Try finding lotions that contain petroleum jelly or glycerine instead. (We love a yummy cocoa butter and thick socks!) And use exfoliants to get the dead skin off periodically; (try Scholl Velvet Smooth Express Pedi) that helps any moisturizers you use to sink in faster and deeper.
9. Pace the Caffeine: aviod caffeine. 1 cup of coffee strips the body of 5 cups of water....
10. Ban Superhot Baths: Sure, soaking in a burning-hot bath feels great after frolicking out in the cold. But the intense heat of a hot shower or bath actually breaks down the lipid barriers in the skin, which can lead to a loss of moisture. You're better off with just warm water, and staying in the water a shorter amount of time.
A lukewarm bath with oatmeal or baking soda, can help relieve skin that is so dry it has become itchy. So, too, can periodically reapplying your moisturizer. If those techniques don't work, go see a Skin Esthetician.
